Prepare for Japan with structure

Plan Japan – personal, clear and stress-free.

Tabiji helps you give your Japan trip a sensible structure – either with personal consulting where we plan your trip together, with courses where you learn to prepare your trip confidently yourself, or with an app that supports you while planning and on the road.

Who is it for?

Who is Tabiji helpful for?

Tabiji is made for people who don't want to leave their Japan trip to chance, but would like clear, realistic and well-structured preparation.

Typical situations in which Tabiji is helpful:

  • you're travelling to Japan for the first time
  • you don't want to drown in too much information while planning
  • you're travelling with a child or baby and want more confidence in your preparation
  • you want to shape your Japan trip around your interests – whether food, anime or shopping – and plan more calmly on site
  • you'd rather travel individually than follow a standard route
  • you want to plan your trip yourself, but with more structure and orientation

Among other things, I help you

  • choose a suitable travel period in terms of weather, season and interests
  • estimate realistic budgets more accurately
  • avoid heavily overcrowded times and places where possible
  • plan for cherry blossoms or autumn leaves sensibly and with realistic expectations
  • better understand the culture and important rules in Japan
  • reduce uncertainty before your trip

Depending on your needs, you can plan your trip together with me, learn how to prepare it yourself in group courses, or use the Tabiji app for planning and on the go.

Important notes

What you get – and what you don't.

What's included

Every package includes a clearly structured, practical itinerary. The level of detail depends on the service booked – from a sensible route with key recommendations to a detailed day-by-day plan.

The plan is worked out so that you can start your trip with it according to the scope you booked. At the same time, it stays flexible enough for you to adjust individual stops, accommodation, activities or times to your wishes later on.

What's not included

  • Making bookings for flights, accommodation, activities or tickets
→ Recommendations, tips and decision support for these can be part of the planning
  • Legally binding advice on entry requirements, visas, insurance or health regulations
  • Ongoing support beyond the booked consultation
→ bookable as the add-on “Travel support via WhatsApp”
  • Unlimited subsequent changes or additional research
→ bookable as the add-on “Extra consulting hour”

Format of the plan

The plan is created in Wanderlog or in an individually agreed format, depending on what makes the most sense for your trip planning.

Delivery time

Preparing the itinerary can take up to 21 working days, depending on complexity, trip length and current workload.

Is it worth it?

Japan is often more affordable than many people think.

How expensive a trip to Japan turns out depends mainly on your choice of flight, accommodation, route and season. Many people overestimate the typical costs – and at the same time underestimate how much time research, comparing and planning can eat up. The following example budgets are therefore deliberately realistic and give a rough orientation for different travel styles.

Flights from Frankfurt (return)
Flight with a stopover approx. 700–900 €
Direct flight approx. 1,200–1,500 €
Total budget for 14 days – incl. flight, accommodation, public transport & food
Budget-conscious trip approx. 1,730–2,530 €
Standard trip approx. 2,390–3,190 €
Comfort trip approx. 3,380–4,180 €
Basic consultation 120 € ≈ 3–7 %

Example calculations from the Japan travel app for 14 days from Frankfurt to Tokyo Narita. They include the flight, all accommodation, all public transport, eating out and typical activities. The original example calculations were based on a flight price of 730 €; the ranges shown instead reflect more realistic flight prices depending on the connection.

Why planning pays off especially here

  • The budgets are deliberately realistic The example figures include not just flights and accommodation, but also all public transport, eating out and typical activities.
  • Your choice of flight noticeably changes the total budget Just choosing between a connecting and a direct flight can quickly make a difference of several hundred euros. That's why the example trips are deliberately shown as realistic ranges.
  • Trip planning often takes many hours With Japan in particular, questions about route, timing, transport, where to stay and priorities quickly pile up. Good orientation saves not only money, but often many evenings of research too.
  • Consulting brings clarity faster It's not about making a trip artificially cheap, but about arriving sooner at a route and budget that truly match your own ideas.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is Tabiji a travel agency?

No. Tabiji offers personal travel consulting and structured preparation for trips to Japan.

Is the consulting suitable for first-time visitors?

Yes – especially for them. Clear orientation helps enormously, particularly the first time.

Do I need to have a finished route already?

No. The consultation can start right at the beginning or build on existing plans.

How do I book?

The easiest way is the form on this website. If you have questions or special requests, I'm happy to help by email.

Can I get to know you before booking?

Yes. The intro call takes 15 minutes and is free and non-binding. We'll look at where you are with your planning and which format suits you.

Do you book hotels and flights for me?

No – I deliberately don't arrange bookings so that my advice stays independent. But I'll help you find suitable options and explain what to look out for when booking.

How far in advance should I get in touch?

The earlier, the better – especially for trips during peak times such as cherry blossom season, Golden Week or autumn leaves. Short-notice enquiries are possible too.

How does payment work?

Payment is made in advance by bank transfer. Details are agreed by email after your enquiry.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Please let me know by email as early as possible. You'll receive the exact cancellation terms with your booking confirmation.

Is the consultation available in English?

Yes – consultations in English are available on request.

Is the consulting worthwhile if I already know Japan?

Yes. People who already know Japan often benefit especially from targeted advice – whether for a more in-depth second trip, off-the-beaten-track tips or more precise seasonal planning.

Is it still worth getting in touch if my trip is coming up soon?

Generally yes – I also accept short-notice enquiries if my calendar allows. Just write to me and I'll tell you honestly what can still sensibly be done in the time remaining.

Can I use the Tabiji app alongside the consultation?

Yes, absolutely. The Tabiji app complements the consultation perfectly: you always have all the information on travel seasons, weather, sakura & co. at hand – and can apply what we discussed directly in the app.
